Getting Started Website Settings Pages & Sub-Pages



Modifying site settings
2MExpress allows users to quickly and easily modify their website settings, via the Express Panel interface. This interface is accessed with the icon located in the Express Bar. The Express Panel features 6 pages, linked together by a left side navigation.
 

Site Options
Users can modify the following items via the Site Options page in the Express Panel.

  • Domain name (For display only)
  • Website name
  • Administrative email address
  • Copyright note (Displayed in website footer)
  • Slogan

New Page Content
When a user creates a new page, default content is automatically added to fill the page. The New Page Content page in the Express Panel allows users to edit the default content via a WYSIWYG editor.

Note: When using the New Page Content editor, users should always remember to press the save icon in the WYSIWYG editor when they are finished.

Templates
The Templates page of the Express Panel allows users to clone default templates for editing. Only cloned templates may be edited. Once a template is cloned, it can then be edited. Editing of templates also occurs in the Templates page.

Tweaks
The Tweaks page of the Express Panel allows users to modify the following site parameters.

  • Navigation dropdown menu title (Applicable to certain templates only)
  • Maximum number of links in Horizontal navigation menu
  • website files extensions, default is .HTML, but you can choose PHP or SHTML if you want to process PHP or SSI within your templates.
  • Edit Icon visibility. (Refers to edit icon located on the bottom of all publicly visible pages. This is linked to 2MExpress.)
  • Publish hidden pages option. (This refers to making publicly viewable pages that have been marked hidden. For new sites, it is recommended this option is unchecked)
  • Convert smileys. (Converting text smileys to images)

Login Password
The Login Password page of the Express Panel allows users to edit their 2MExpress login password.

Publishing Settings
All fields of the Publishing Settings page of the Express Panel are required. These settings determine where 2MExpress will publish the site to. The required information is:

  • FTP Server
  • FTP Port
  • FTP Username
  • FTP Password
  • Folder to publish to
